North West 200: Crash a 'freak accident', says injured spectator Violet McAfee's mum

The mother of a woman who has been seriously injured while she was watching the North West 200 at the weekend has said it was a 'freak accident'.

Violet McAfee, 44, was in the garden of a friend's house when three bikes crashed during the opening race.

Speaking to BBC News NI's Ciara Riddell, Kathleen McAfee said that the North West 200 is dangerous, but she doesn't want to see the race stopped.
