A father and his five-year-old son, who were struck by lightning outside Killowen Primary School in Lisburn on Tuesday, remain in a critical condition in hospital.

George Allen, 37, was collecting his five-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter from school when they were hit.

One of the governors, Roger Thompson, said there was a feeling of "emptiness" at the school on Wednesday.
