Stakeknife investigation: Jon Boutcher says 'truth will be 'difficult and elusive prey'
The chief constable of Bedfordshire Police Jon Boutcher will lead a police investigation into the alleged activities of the Army's most high-ranking agent in the IRA.
The agent, codenamed Stakeknife, has been linked to more than 50 murders.
Mr Boutcher said with both the passage of time and the "very nature of these crimes, the truth will be a difficult and elusive prey".
