Coaching scandal: Daithí McKay 'was working on his own'

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has said it would be "ludicrous" to suggest that Daithí McKay had been working along with senior Sinn Féin officials when he contacted Jamie Bryson, a loyalist blogger, ahead of an appearance at a Stormont inquiry.

Mr McKay has now resigned as a Sinn Féin MLA amid claims he "coached" Mr Bryson as a witness to the NAMA inquiry, which was chaired by Mr McKay.

Mr McGuinness said Mr McKay "was working on his own".
