Mike Nesbitt 'over-ambitious' with envelope prediction

The leader of the Ulster unionist Party (UUP), Mike Nesbitt, has admitted that his pre-election prediction that his party would secure 18 or 19 seats was 'over-ambitious.'

Mr Nesbitt had posted his prediction made on 15 April 2016 to himself and allowed BBC News NI's Mark Carruthers to open the envelope live on BBC Two NI.

The UUP have gained a total of 15 seats and are expected to secure 16 in total.
