Defence Secretary - protect Britain from 'nuclear blackmail'
Defence Secretary Liam Fox wants Britain to maintain a nuclear deterrent in the form of Trident.
He told the Andrew Marr Show that the UK should not "play fast and loose" with the country's defence and that it is impossible to predict what threats will arise in the next 40 years.
He confirmed that the MoD is in discussion with the Treasury on how costs will be met and that he is confident he can reduce the cost of Trident.
