David Cameron defends coalition policy announcements
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has said although he plans to cut child benefit for the highest tax payers, he will not go back on a pledge to retain pensioners' benefits like the winter fuel allowance.
Senior Conservatives have been criticised for breaking a promise, made while in opposition, to protect child benefit.
But Mr Cameron said election pledges made to pensioners would be honoured.
The BBC's Nick Robinson spoke to the prime minister about the policies.
