Shadow Europe minister on Cameron's 'blood curdling rhetoric' on EU budget
Prime Minister David Cameron has phoned several European leaders, hours before an EU summit, urging them to reject a big rise in the organisation's budget.
Mr Cameron spoke to the German chancellor and the French president and will continue negotiations at the EU summit in Brussels on Thursday.
The shadow Europe minister, Wayne David, told the BBC he thought the Prime Minister was not handling negotiations well, accusing him of "blood curdling rhetoric".
