Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat rebels on fees vote
As MPs prepare for a crucial vote on plans to increase university tuition fees in England, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats, Simon Hughes, has said he won't be able to back the coalition government's proposals.
Ministers have been trying to rally support for the measure which could allow fees to treble to nine thousand pounds a year.
Mr Hughes said he will at least abstain in the vote.
