Ed Miliband on by-election victory: 'Clear message'
The Leader of the Labour Party, Ed Miliband celebrated Labour's win at the Barnsley Central by-election by saying "a very important message" had been sent out to the government.
Labour won the seat comfortably with their candidate Dan Jarvis taking 61 per cent of the vote.
The Liberal Democrats dropped to sixth place in the by-election, after coming second in last year's general election.
The election was caused by the resignation of the former Labour MP, Eric Illsley who who was jailed in February for expenses fraud.
