Voters' views on local elections
Politicians will face their biggest test since the General Election, next week, when voters head for the polls on 5 May.
The 'Alternative Vote' referendum cuts across party lines.
So, for a better indication of the parties' relative strengths, they will be looking at the results of local council elections which are being held in many parts of England on the same day.
