Nick Clegg: House of Lords election in 2015 is our aim
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has set out the government's plans for reforms to the House of Lords, saying the aim is to hold elections in 2015.
Under the proposals the upper house would have 300 members, significantly less than at present.
In a statement to the Commons Mr Clegg set out a series of options in an attempt to secure consensus for change, but the plans are expected to face strong opposition from peers and MPs.
