Politicians claim victory as BSkyB bid shelved
The announcement from News Corporation that it is withdrawing its bid for BSkyB came after MPs in the Commons lined up in a remarkable cross-party effort against the takeover.
Prime Minister David Cameron said the decision to drop the bid was the right one.
Labour leader Ed Miliband said it was a victory for people everywhere who had been appalled by the phone-hacking scandal.
