Yates denies getting job for former NoW executive's daughter

The outgoing assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has denied allegations that he helped the daughter of a former News of the World executive to get a job with the force.

Giving evidence to the Home Affairs Select Committee, John Yates said he simply acted "as a postbox" when he passed on Neil Wallis' daughter's CV.
