Transport secretary says trains are now 'a rich man's toy'

The Transport Secretary has admitted train fares are now so high many ordinary people are excluded from them.

Philip Hammond told an MPs' committee that customers have to be fairly well-off to be able to afford many of the country's rail services, calling some fares "eye-wateringly expensive".
