Charles Clarke on Ed Miliband and new shadow cabinet

Charles Clarke claimed the Labour conference "failed to come across with an alternative" to the government and the leader "still has a long way to go".

But the former home secretary praised the new faces in the shadow cabinet, and said Ed Miliband had taken some good decisions so far.

He also said the apparent boo-ing of Tony Blair during the leader's speech at the Labour conference was "completely stupid".
