Rwandan President Paul Kagame has rejected allegations of human rights abuses by his government, including claims that political opposition was suppressed in the run-up to the presidential elections in August 2010, in which he won 93% of the vote.
Talking to The Andrew Marr Show from the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Perth, Australia, the President said he thought that "any elections are better than no elections at all."
Andrew Marr began by asking the President why Rwanda joined the Commonwealth in 2009.
