Child benefit cuts 'will go ahead'

George Osborne has insisted the government is committed to removing child benefit from higher paid families in Britain, when changes come into force next year.

The chancellor's comments come after David Cameron suggested the government may modify the proposals and other ministers suggested the details were being looked at to make it fairer.
