And now for the second and concluding part of our interview with the historian and biographer Richard Thorpe about the Queen and the Prime Ministers who served her during the earlier part of her 60 year reign. Much has changed in that time - such as the Crown's powers to appoint Prime Ministers and dissolve parliament. As Richard Thorpe explains both the Queen's father and grandfather had had the experience of being called upon to select a Prime Minister themselves - with some help of course from close advisers.
