Labour conference: Discrimination and equality policy
The former Labour government introduced equalities legislation aiming to reduce discrimination against people because of age, disability and gender.
It brought in equality laws and all-women short lists to get more women into Labour seats in Parliament.
Susana Mendonca examined the figures with Equality and Human Rights commissioner Stephen Alambritis, Labour MP Luciana Berger, and Akash Paun, a senior researcher at the Institute for Government.
