Public sector pensions: Neil Marsh and Darren Philp

The government's plans for public sector pensions should progress with the Public Service Pension Bill's second reading in Parliament next week.

There has been strike action over staff paying more into their pensions, and working for longer, as they switch from "gold-plated" final salary schemes to those based on a career average.

Susana Mendonca reports from London's Jewellery Quarter to see if there really are any gold-plated" pensions. She spoke to Neil Marsh, pension officer for the Prospect union, and Darren Philp from the National Association of Pension Funds.
