Joint defence partnership between UK and the UAE announced
Britain and the United Arab Emirates have announced a joint defence partnership, following David Cameron's two-day visit to the country.
No 10 said the two countries had agreed "a defence industrial partnership" involving "close collaboration" on the Typhoon jet.
The Prime Minister said he made 'absolutely no apologies' for talking to Saudi Arabia about possible commercial deals on defence.
During his visit he also said that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should be allowed a safe passage out of the country if it would end the bloodshed.
Frank Gardner reports from Jeddah.
