Cameron: Synod vote on women bishops 'very sad'
David Cameron has said he is "very sad" that the Church of England has rejected the ordination of women bishops.
While 324 synod members voted for women bishops, Church voting rules meant 122 votes against were enough to block it.
Speaking during Prime Minister's Questions, the Prime Minister said he believed the church needed to modernise.
