Jeremy Hunt: Care failings are 'unacceptable'

A growing number of elderly patients are denied help to eat and drink and robbed of their privacy because care homes are struggling to cope, according to a report.

The findings from the Care Quality Commission were based on 13,000 inspections.

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said the results were totally unacceptable but were ''not the norm'' in the NHS and the social care system.
