More councils paying living wage rate
More councils are saying they will pay their staff the informal living wage rate of around £7.45, which is about £1 an hour higher than the national minimum wage figure set by the government.
BBC Hereford and Worcester's political reporter Tom Turrell reports for the Daily Politics on how some councils in the Midlands are paying more money to their lowest-paid workers, but how some employers reckon the higher level is unaffordable in tough economic times.
