Home Secretary Theresa May: 'No date for Qatada deportation'

The Home Secretary Theresa May has told MPs on the Home Affairs Committee that she cannot say when Abu Qatada will be deported.

Mrs May also blamed the European Court of Human Rights for the Government's failure to expel the cleric.

Pressed over her claim last year that Qatada would be on a plane "shortly" , Mrs May said she could not now give MPs a timetable or a date for his deportation.
