Grant Shapps insists Conservatives do a "fantastic job"

The Conservative chairman Grant Shapps has insisted that his party's members do a "fantastic job" up and down the country.

He was speaking after a survey of more than 850 Tory members suggested that more than half felt they were not respected by the party leadership.

Almost one in five were seriously considering voting UKIP.
