Immigration debate 'panic' - Vince Cable
Business Secretary Vince Cable has said the debate over a cap on immigration to the UK is part of the "periodic panics" over the subject.
Talking on The Andrew Marr Show, Mr Cable agreed with Liberal Democrat leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg that a proposed cap of 75,000 people coming to the UK from the EU would not work and was a "populist" measure.
However, it had been right for the coalition government to seek to end the abuse of the benefit system.
