Douglas Alexander: EU referendum 'unlikely' under Labour
A referendum on the UK's membership of the EU is "unlikely" to take place over the next Parliament if Labour is elected, Shadow Foreign Secretary Douglas Alexander has said.
Speaking to the Today programme, Mr Alexander said the party did not want to commit to an "arbitrary timetable", but they would "guarantee" a referendum in the event that further power is transferred to Brussels.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 12 March.
