Mandelson: Miliband 'courageous' over EU referendum
Labour leader Ed Miliband has "shown courage" for not making "an arbitrary commitment" to an in/out referendum over the UK's membership of the EU, Lord Mandelson has said.
His comments come as Mr Miliband announced that a future Labour government would not call a referendum unless it was being asked to transfer more powers to Brussels.
Lord Mandelson told Radio 4's Today programme the decision will "strengthen" Mr Miliband and "help him win" the next general election.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday, 12 March.
