'We all want to keep bills down' says SSE chief
Alistair Phillips-Davies, chief executive of big-six firm SSE, has said politicians and energy firms all have same objective - to keep prices down for customers.
Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show after his company promised to freeze prices until 2016, Mr Phillips-Davies said Ed Miliband's call for a price freeze had resonated with customers. He added that the government's removal of the green levy had allowed SSE to reduce bills and freeze prices.
He also said he had written to all political parties calling for them to work with energy firms to try and bring prices down.
