Sir John Major: Britain has 'allies' in renegotiating EU

Britain has "allies" in wanting to renegotiate the EU following the rise of Euroscepticism displayed in recent elections across the continent, Sir John Major has said.

The former prime minister also backed David Cameron to win a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU, which is scheduled to take place in 2017 if the Tories win the next general election.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 30 May.
