Theresa May: 'I did not break ministerial code'

Home Secretary Theresa May has said she did not break the ministerial code and has called on the Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to "withdraw her allegations".

Speaking in the House of Commons, Mrs May has insisted she "did not authorise" the release of a letter to Education Secretary Michael Gove about tackling extremism.

Mrs Cooper told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show on Sunday: "She has breached the ministerial code by writing and then authorising the publication of this letter."
