Nick Clegg describes 'new low' in coalition relations
The Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, has described a "new low point in coalition relations" after the Conservative Home Secretary Theresa May attacked his party for thwarting attempts to introduce new data monitoring powers.
In a speech to the Conservative Party conference earlier this week, Mrs May attacked the Lib Dems for blocking the communications data bill two years ago.
She claimed scrapping the legislation had led to the National Crime Agency dropping cases including 13 in which children were at risk.
Speaking to LBC's Nick Ferrari, Nick Clegg said he has demanded an apology for what he said were "outrageous" claims.
