Pauline Pearce's bid to be Liberal Democrat MP

The so-called Heroine of Hackney who joined the Lib Dems pulled out of the race to be the party president after she "encountered some unpleasantries" from a minority of members.

Pauline Pearce, who achieved fame in an internet clip after the London riots of 2011, said she took on some of the criticisms, and was gaining more political experience.

And she told Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics that she was now looking for a seat in her bid to be a Lib Dem MP.
