UKIP's Nigel Farage defends Polish MEP joining European Parliament group

The UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, has defended his party's decision to join forces with a Polish MEP as part of a Eurosceptic grouping in the European Parliament.

Robert Iwaszkiewicz recently caused controversy after reports that he said that hitting wives could "bring them back down to earth".

Mr Farage insists the wife-beating comment was "just a joke".
