Clegg on his Autumn Statement absence

The Deputy Prime Minister has denied that his absence from Parliament during Chancellor George Osborne's Autumn Statement was a deliberate act to distance himself from its contents.

He told the BBC's Andrew Marr programme that he wanted to be out in Cornwall explaining to 'ordinary' people about how it would affect them.
