David Cameron: We are lifting people out of poverty
Prime Minister David Cameron has said a report into the number of people turning to food-banks was "useful" - but has insisted that reducing poverty was the best way to boost the economy.
A parliamentary inquiry by MPs and church leaders has highlighted delayed welfare payments as one of the reasons people go to food banks for emergency help.
However Mr Cameron said present policies were 'lifting people into work and out of poverty''.
