General election: Digital consortium proposes five-party online debate

A consortium of The Guardian and The Telegraph newspapers, together with YouTube, has invited the five main UK-wide parties - including the Greens - to take part in an online election debate.

Chris Birkett from The Digital Debate, says that informally the group has had an "encouraging" response from the parties.

And he says there are plans to make the debate available to television broadcasters.
