Nigel Farage: 'We're putting people off politics'

The UKIP leader Nigel Farage says that the media's presentation of ideological debate within political parties is putting people off politics.

Speaking to the BBC's political editor, Nick Robinson, Mr Farage said: "We are putting off a lot of able people coming into politics".

He was speaking on Radio 4's Can Democracy Work? programme, which is available to listen to on the BBC iPlayer.

Democracy Day takes place on Tuesday 20 January, across BBC radio, TV and online.
