Digital Democracy Commission: Online election voting

The BBC's political editor on the Digital Democracy Commission calling for people to be allowed to vote online in 2020 and take part in parliamentary debates from their home.

Nick Robinson warned there was some nervousness in Parliament about the plans, and that it was "notoriously slow to change". He said the plans were designed to get more people involved in democracy but that there were fears about the security of online voting.

The plans would not be introduced in time for the 2015 general election.
