SNP leader Sturgeon calls for end to austerity

The First Minister of Scotland is calling for an end to austerity and for the deficit to be reduced at a slower pace after the next election.

Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish National Party leader, says her party wants to increase UK public spending by £180bn by 2020.

Opinion polls suggest that the SNP could hold the balance of power at Westminster after the general election.
