Furness baby deaths inquiry: 'Lessons will be learned,' says Hunt

An investigation into Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust found 20 major failures in care from 2004 to 2013 at Furness General Hospital.

The failures led to the unnecessary deaths of 11 babies and one mother.

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said the investigation let by Dr Bill Kirkup would "allow us to move forward with practical actions to improve safety".
