Jo Cox: MPs pay tribute

Parliament was recalled today to allow MPs to pay tribute to their colleague Jo Cox MP who was shot and killed in her Yorkshire constituency last week.

Speaker John Bercow said the Commons had gathered in "heartbreaking sadness" but also in "heartfelt solidarity".

A white and a red rose were placed in Mrs Cox's usual place on the Labour benches and every MP wore white roses in honour of an MP who was praised for her compassion and energy.
