Gerald Kaufman 'amiable' and 'clever' says Hattersley
Gerald Kaufman was 'a very clever man' according to his friend, former Labour deputy leader, Lord Hattersley, who was paying tribute to him on the news of his death.
The Labour MP had been the Father of the House, the title for the longest serving member of parliament, since the 2015 general election.
Lord Hattersley told the World at One he was 'a very amiable man' who was concerned about his party's future.
