Election expenses: 'I find the timing astonishing'

The Conservative Party has been fined £70,000 for a breach of election expenses rules, the Electoral Commission has said. The fine follows an investigation into alleged misreporting of expenses during the 2015 general election campaign.

Conservative MP Sir Roger Gale tells Today that he has "no reason to believe" that individual members of parliament falsified their expenses documents. He thinks the election battle bus was properly run with people acting on the legal advice given by central office.
