Tom Watson: This is a 'battle for future of Labour party'
Labour's deputy leader, Tom Watson, says left-wing supporters of Jeremy Corbyn are involved in a plot which could destroy the party as an electoral force.
He was reacting to claims that the grassroots Momentum group - which helped propel Mr Corbyn to the leadership - is planning to secure direct financial support from Britain's largest trade union, Unite. Mr Watson told the Today programme he regards this as a "battle for the future existence of the Labour party".
