Emily Thornberry says poor children are overweight

The shadow foreign secretary has claimed poor children are overweight, as she defended Labour plans to extend free school meals to all primary school pupils in England.

Emily Thornberry said if pupils were provided with a lunch they were "being taught about healthy eating".

She told the BBC's Andrew Marr she felt part of a "state school educational experience" should be having lunch together.
