Damian Green: 'There are no police cuts'

The first secretary of state has insisted the Conservative Party did not cut police budgets. Damian Green told the Today programme they were protected in the last parliament.

Mr Green said they had actually increased counter-terrorism spending by 30% with 1900 new intelligence officers.

"The police budget is being specifically protected," he added.
