Tory MEP: 'Fish don't know borders'

A Conservative MEP has defended the EU's common fisheries policy, saying fish did not observe national borders.

Kay Swinburne made the comments in a BBC Radio Wales debate hosted by Oliver Hides.

"For me, fish don't know borders," she said. "Fish swim wherever they want to swim.

"Ultimately you have to have a broader outlook on this."

Mark Reckless, of UKIP, said fishermen should vote to leave, saying their industry had been "destroyed" by the EU.
